Oponganda

Pre-Primary

&

Daycare

is

situated

in

the

Katutura

Grysblok

Suburb

and

was

established

and officially opened in March 1995 through the honourable First Lady of Namibia, Mrs K. Nujoma.

The

community

kindergarten,

governed

by

THE

CHILDRENS

HOUSE

TRUST,

respects

and

embraces

the

unique

gifts

and

cultural

heritage

of

children

and

staff.

It

runs

throughout

the

year

and

is

only

closed

on

public holidays and for 4 weeks in December/January.

Mission

The

purpose

of

the

Oponganda

Pre-Primary

&

DayCare

i

s

to

provide

and

promote

licensed,

non-profit,

high

quality,

affordable,

and

accessible

early

learning

and

childcare

programs

to

meet

the

needs

of

children and families

in the immediate vicinity of which

most of them

fall

into

the

low-income

bracket.

Vision

The

Oponganda

Pre-Primary

&

DayCare

has

been

founded

to

provide

a

safe,

developmentally,

inclusive

environment

for

toddlers,

preschool,

kindergarten,

and

school

age

children.

Our

focus

is

to

provide

a

stimulating

early

learning

and

childcare

experience

which

promotes

each

child’s

social/emotional,

physical

and cognitive development.

Our

goal

is

to

support

and

nurture

the

children’s

and

our

own

natural

desire

to

be

life-long

learners.

We

are

committed

to

the

families

we

serve,

providing

support

and

encouragement.

We

admit

children

from

3

months

to

6

years

of

age.

The

children

are

divided

into

different

groups.

Each

group

follows

the

curriculum

which

is

appropriate for the age group’s physical, social, emotional and intellectual needs.
