Compliance
with
rudimentary
standards
or
specifications
for
conventional
kindergartens
and
day
care
centres
is
only
sporadically
checked
in
Namibia,
if

takes

more
than

her/his
own
child
therefore

a

care
centre,
not
necessarily
pursuing
the
long-term
welfare
of
the
child, but rather doing so to make a living.
In
contrast,
the
self-imposed
requirements
for
implementing
the
Montessori
Method
are
significantly
more
complex
and
therefore
more
costly.
Montessorians
go
through
a
3-4
year
dual
training,
which
is
comparable
to
that
of
a
kindergarten
teacher
in
Germany. However, that is where the parallels end.
A
Montessori
kindergarten
offers
learning
materials
in
abundance
for
the
respective
age
group,
which
then
also
have
to
be
presented
professionally
and
individually
by
the
educators.
While
this
method
is
already
above
standard in Germany, it is the quantum leap in Katutura.
With
the
help
of
these
materials
and
trained
teachers,
the
children
are
given
the
chance
of
a
good
start
in
school.
The
basic
knowledge they learn will have a positive effect in the first years of school and lead to good results in the long run.

classes,
we
are
also
looking
for

are

for
needy
children.
